The second FTW cycle ride took place from 15th to the 25th September 2005. Approximately 250 women took part with ages ranging from 19 to 70!
The cyclists covered a distance of almost 320 kilometres in total as they rode through Beirut, from the Syrian border into Damascus, out into the Syrian desert to Busra, then over the Jordanian border into Amman, into Jericho and Ramallah. Along the way the participants had the opportunity to meet women from many different countries and share their thoughts, beliefs, experiences and lives. Many good and lasting friendships were formed and plans for FTW in the future were made.
Many of the women left their homes, work, families and commitments to travel in order to learn and show support for their fellow women in the Middle East. A warm welcome awaited in the host countries, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine.
At the end of the ride the women took the aims of FTW forward and are creating an international movement for peace.
